The Diamond-Shaped Clock at the Museum
RMCMA distinctive diamond-shaped clock can now be seen on the front of the city museum. However, historical photographs from the late nineteenth century show that the building originally did not have this clock. Researchers believe it was installed at a later date.
Over time, the clock became a useful reference point for nearby ferry operators and workers in the quarry area, who relied on it to check whether they were running on schedule. Although originally added as a decorative architectural feature, the clock gradually served practical purposes as well.
Today, it remains both a landmark and a functional timepiece for the community.
